Get started with Bulk Product Editor in just a few minutes. This guide will walk you through the installation process and initial setup.
Prerequisites
Before installing Bulk Product Editor, ensure you have:
- A Shopify store (any plan)
- Admin access to your Shopify store
- Products in your store to edit (optional for testing)
Installation Steps
Step 1: Install from Shopify App Store
- Visit the Shopify App Store
- Search for "Bulk Product Editor"
- Click on our app (by Merchinary)
- Click "Add app"
- Review the permissions and click "Install app"
Step 2: Grant Permissions
The app requires the following permissions:
- Read and write products: To edit your product information
- Read and write product listings: To manage product visibility
- Read orders: To provide sales insights (optional)
Step 3: Initial Configuration
After installation, you'll be redirected to the app dashboard:
- Welcome Screen: Complete the quick setup wizard
- Store Analysis: The app will analyze your product catalog
- Backup Settings: Configure automatic backups (recommended)
First-Time Setup
Configure Backup Settings
We strongly recommend enabling automatic backups:
- Go to Settings → Backup
- Enable "Automatic backups before bulk edits"
- Set retention period (default: 30 days)
- Click "Save Settings"
Set User Permissions
If you have multiple staff members:
- Go to Settings → Team
- Invite team members
- Set permission levels:
- Admin: Full access
- Editor: Can edit products
- Viewer: Read-only access
Verification
To verify the installation was successful:
- Go to your Shopify admin
- Navigate to Apps → Bulk Product Editor
- You should see the app dashboard
- Try creating a simple filter to view your products

Troubleshooting Installation
