Interface Overview
This page walks through what you see when you open Bulk Product Editor — the post-install data sync, the home dashboard, and the navigation between the main areas of the app.
Data sync (first-time setup)
Right after installation, the app sends you to the Data Sync screen. This is a mandatory one-time step: the app keeps a local cache of your products, variants, collections, inventory levels, and metafield definitions so filtering and previews stay fast.

On first launch you'll see a consent screen. Click Start Sync to begin.
Sync states
The sync screen moves through a few states. You don't need to do anything except wait — it auto-refreshes:
- Start Sync — Click the button to queue the job. Large catalogs can take several minutes.
- Queued — The job is waiting for a worker to pick it up. You can cancel from here.
- Syncing data — A progress bar with five phases: Products & Variants, Collections, Inventory Levels, Cleanup, Finalizing. Live counts show how many items have been processed.
- Failed — If something went wrong, you'll see an error message and a Retry button.
- Cancelled — If you cancelled, you can restart any time.

In-progress view shows phase, percent complete, and per-phase counts.
Once sync finishes, you're sent to the home dashboard automatically. You can re-run sync any time from the home page (Resync button on the Shop Data card).
Home dashboard
After sync completes, the home page is the first thing you see. It's organized into a main column and a sidebar.

Home dashboard — usage metrics on top, shop data, upcoming jobs, automations, and recent jobs.
Header actions
Two buttons sit at the top of the page:
- Start Bulk Edit (primary) — Jumps straight to the bulk edit workspace.
- Export Data (secondary) — Jumps to the new export builder.
If you're approaching your monthly job or export limit, a yellow Upgrade banner appears above everything else with a one-click link to change plans.
Metric cards
Three cards across the top of the main column:
- Bulk Edits — Count of bulk edit jobs this month, with a quota progress bar (red when you're close to the limit). Unlimited plans just show the count.
- Exports — Same idea, but for CSV/XLSX exports this month.
- Time Saved — Estimated time the app has saved you this month (falls back to year-to-date if there's nothing this month).
Shop Data
A status block showing:
- Synced badge and the timestamp of your last sync (in your local timezone).
- A Resync button to manually re-mirror your shop data — useful after big changes in Shopify admin.
- Four counts pulled from your cache: Products, Variants, Collections, and Metafield Definitions.
Upcoming Jobs
A table of what's coming up next, combining both:
- One-time Scheduled jobs waiting to run.
- The next run of any active Recurring automation.
Each row is sorted by scheduled time so the soonest event is on top. Click any name to jump straight to the job (or automation) detail page. View All Scheduled opens the full list.
Automations
A list of your active recurring jobs with their name, status badge, and schedule (e.g. "WEEKLY (Asia/Kolkata)"). Click a row to manage the automation. If you don't have any, this section shows a Create Automation button.
Recent Jobs
Your most recent bulk edits, with Name, Type (Immediate / Scheduled / Recurring / Revert), a status badge (Queued, Processing, Completed, Failed, etc.), and how long ago it was created. View All Jobs opens the full history. Create Job at the top of this section is another shortcut into the bulk edit workspace.
Sidebar
The right-hand sidebar holds two cards:
- Subscription Plan — Your current plan name, a quick line on your bulk edit and export quotas, plus See Limits (jumps to the billing page) and Change Plan (opens Shopify's plan picker).
- General — Quick links to Notification Settings, Privacy Policy, Tips for bulk editing, and FAQ.

Sidebar — plan summary on top, general links below.
App navigation
Bulk Product Editor adds itself to your Shopify admin sidebar under Apps. Once sync is complete, the in-app top nav has these items:
- Home — The dashboard you just read about.
- New Bulk Edit — Build and run a new bulk edit job.
- New Export — Build and run a new export.
- History — All past jobs, with separate tabs for bulk edits and exports.
- Automations — All your recurring jobs.
- Settings — Billing and notifications.
Before sync is complete only Home and Settings are visible; the rest unlock once data is ready.
What's next?
- Your first bulk edit — A step-by-step walkthrough of the 3-step job creation flow.
- Setting up filters — The condition builder in depth.
