Bulk Product Editor Overview

Merchinary Bulk Product Editor is a Shopify app that lets you update many products and variants at once. Instead of editing one product at a time, you build a filter to pick the products you want, define a set of modifications, preview the exact changes, and run them — immediately, on a schedule, or on a recurring schedule.

How it works​

  1. Install the app from the Shopify App Store. You'll be redirected straight to the data sync screen.
  2. Sync your shop. This is a one-time mandatory step that mirrors your products, variants, collections, inventory, and metafield definitions into our database so filters and previews stay fast. After sync, the home page becomes available.
  3. Create a bulk edit. From Home or the New Bulk Edit menu item, build your filter, define your modifications, preview the changes, then create the job.
  4. Pick when it runs. Immediate (now), Scheduled (specific date/time), or Recurring (daily/weekly/monthly/yearly).
  5. Track and revert. Every job has a detail page with the exact filter, modifications, affected products, and a one-click revert button.

Filtering and selection​

  • Setting up filters — Build conditions on any product or variant field, combine them with AND/OR, save reusable filter presets.
  • Advanced filtering — Cross-field comparisons (price vs compare-at, price vs cost), inventory at a specific location, metafield filters, collection membership.

Editing​

  • Product & variant editing — Edit any supported Shopify product or variant field.
  • Bulk edit products — Multiple modifications per job, with operations like Set, Append, Prepend, Search & Replace, Increase/Decrease, Clear.
  • Undo bulk edits — Revert a completed job to restore the previous values, within your plan's retention window.

Presets​

Scheduling and automation​

  • Scheduled jobs — Run a bulk edit at a specific future date and time, with an optional auto-revert at a later date.
  • Recurring jobs (Automations) — Run a bulk edit on a recurring schedule (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly), with an optional cap on total runs.

Job history and monitoring​

  • Job history — Browse every job with status, type, and timing.
  • Tracking changes — See the exact before/after for every product and variant a job touched.
  • Reverting changes — Roll back a completed job from its detail page.

Exports​

  • CSV / XLSX exports — Run the same filter against your shop and export the matching rows to CSV or XLSX, with a configurable column set.
