Scheduled Image Edits

A scheduled image edit runs once at a date and time you pick — ideal for launching a seasonal background or a campaign image at a precise moment without staying up to click Apply.

Scheduling an edit

Build and stage your edit as usual, then click Create Job ▾ → Scheduled:

  • Pick the date and time — it runs in your store's timezone.
  • Optionally set an auto-revert window, so the edit automatically rolls back after a set period (e.g. revert two weeks after a sale launches).
  • Choose your revert mode.

When you confirm, the edit is armed and you land on the edit's page, which now shows a Scheduled banner with the fire time and a Cancel schedule button.

Editing while armed

A scheduled edit stays fully editable until it fires — nothing is written to Shopify until then. You can keep refining cells and layers right up to the run time. Each change re-checks for scheduling conflicts (see below).

Canceling

Click Cancel schedule on the edit's page to disarm it. The edit returns to a draft you can re-arm or discard later.

Conflict prevention

When you arm a schedule, the app checks that no other armed or live edit would own the same variants during an overlapping time window. Two edits fighting over the same variant's image at the same time would corrupt each other's revert snapshots, so this is prevented up front: if there's a conflict, arming is blocked and the app names the other edit and a sample overlapping window. Adjust the schedule, narrow the scope, or revert/cancel the other edit, and try again.

Edits on the same product but different colors touch different variants and never conflict.
