Plans & Limits

The Image Editor shares one subscription with Bulk Product Editor — there is no separate "image" plan. Image edits draw on the same monthly job pool as bulk edits, plus one image-specific limit: the Asset Library cap.

For the full price-by-tier table (Free, Starter, Growth, Scale), see the Bulk Product Editor pricing page. This page explains how each limit applies to the Image Editor specifically.

Shared limits

Monthly jobs

Every time you apply an image edit, it counts as one job for the month — the same pool used by bulk edits. A bulk job and an image apply both draw from the same monthly allowance, in both directions, so you can't bypass the limit by mixing the two tools.

  • The Home dashboard and the billing page show one combined monthly job count.
  • When you're close to the limit, the Create Job modal shows an inline warning with an upgrade link.
  • Scheduled and recurring image edits count in the month they run, not the month you arm them.

Products per job

Each apply is checked against your plan's products-per-job limit. For image edits this is measured as the number of products in your frozen scope that still exist in Shopify — so products you deleted after freezing the scope don't count against you.

Image-specific limit

Asset Library cap

Your plan caps how many layer assets you can store in the Asset Library at once (across all your edits — assets are reusable):

PlanAsset Library limit
Free50
Starter1,000
Growth10,000
Scale100,000
  • The cap is enforced when you upload or import a new asset. If you're at the limit, the upload is blocked with an upgrade prompt.
  • Deleting assets frees up room immediately.
  • Thumbnails and generated previews don't count against the cap — only the source layer assets do.
  • Your current usage is shown on the Settings → Billing page.

Other plan-tiered behavior

History & draft retention

  • Applied image edits and their before/after results are retained for your plan's history window.
  • Drafts (frozen-scope edits you never applied) are kept for the same window, then cleaned up automatically. Editing a draft resets its clock.

Presets

Saved filter presets used for image-edit scope reuse the same preset store as Bulk Product Editor, and count toward the same presets limit. There's no separate image preset quota.

Upgrading

You can change plans anytime from Settings → Billing → Change Plan, which opens Shopify's plan picker. Upgrades take effect immediately, so a blocked upload or job can go through as soon as the new plan is active.
